Cross keys meet up

Yet another great opportunity and experience with VR, this time a meet up in a pub. Any concerns I had about the possibility of VR not catching on were put to rest, seeing the tiny room packed to the brim with people interested in it.

They managed to get game developer/ writer Rob Yescombe in for a talk. He spoke about the use and application of narrative in vr, saying that typically vr works in either linear, or branching paths, but he is currently working with circular narrative. The idea is you get to float around a scenario, following any event that interests you within a chosen space. Really interesting stuff.

After the talk, we had the chance to try some tech demos, having the chance to try a game in the HTC vive, very interesting to see how big game companies are utilising vr. Even better than this though, myself and Kyle got the chance to talk to Yescombe about his experience in the gaming industry and the direction he sees it going.

Fantastic opportunity, and Im eagerly anticipating the next event.
