And so a group for life's a pitch is born. This was strangely a surprise for us, as we somehow naturally came to the same conclusion as to what our focus should be. Our name is Sensorama!
It started with myself and Kyle, having a conversation about recent events in VR, speaking of how we had somewhat of an interest working with it. One thing led to the other and we decided we should make a collective, with VR as our end goal. Just before presenting, we had my good friend Connell Makepeace from graphics join, also having a keen interest in the field.
For our presentation, we felt the need to introduce the field of VR at the moment, seen as there isn't too great of a understanding for the general public. It is adversely, generating a lot of interest from the creative industries, so seems like a great idea to jump in right now, for self promotion purposes.
Continuing from that, we then covered our personal interest in VR, and how we could possibly use the upcoming gallery space (called it!) to present. To illustrate this point, I placed some of my old digital paintings in to the photo I took of the space, just to give a general idea of what we are aiming for in this. The most exciting aspect would be avoiding the possible crowded nature of the exhibition, having the space to our selves on a digital plain for our work.
We explained that, if this goes well, we could totally continue to display work in this manner, shown in this prototype made by Kyle, showing all of our work in an open environment!
The presentation went really well, and the whole process has my imagination set aflame. Im really excited about the future of our little group, and can totally see a great deal of potential for us.
