The creative industries

For this task I had to consider where my practice sits within the creative industries. I have a general idea of the direction I would like to take, but still have little aspirations fighting to grab my attention, but hopefully this task will help me to centre my attention.

Publishing and book design:

I have somewhat of an interest in this industry, I've been very open about my interest in honing my storytelling ability. I see this field offering the chance to practice conveyance within my imagery, without the ability to use speech.

Character and narrative:

Something I work with a lot, this is what I primarily work with. For some reason I've always drawn characters that I made up, possibly from my obsession with the Gorillaz through my childhood. I've not really thought about it recently, but I could see myself working in concept art for characters.

Advertising and promotion:

Something that I dip in to time and again, but have never really been committed to improving, altough I will admit, totally makes for the strongest imagery. I do really want to further this skill, hopefully responsive will offer an opportunity to work on this.
