Creative presence crit: Online presence: Personal website and Social Media

After a talk with tutors and peers today about online presence, I figured it was time to put more consideration in to mine, starting with my website. It was time to take the plunge and buy myself a domain. I also felt the need to redesign the site, updating the imagery on display. It simply didn't reflect my work as an illustrator now, requiring an overhaul.

You can see the site HERE

I decided to keep the site as simple as I could, having the portfolio be the main page so the viewer is instantly greeted by the most important area. The AR and comics are given their own areas with intractable elements, then a simple contact sheet.

Social media:

I have a few social media pages on the go. Im definitely not great at maintaining them, whilst also keeping an interest in them. My most recent additions have been the use of tumblr and twitter. I can see the benefits that come from working on these platforms, with the artists cultivating a passionate loyal fanbase from them, but I just cant wrap my head around their proper usage. They require a further dedication than simply posting work, you need to interact yourself. Something I'm quite uncomfortable with online.

This needs to change if I'm to attract an audience and clients. My third and main platform is one that I am far more comfortable with, instagram. You post the Image, apply the appropriate tags and let it do it's thing, lovely!
