Irish national gallery

Whilst visiting Dublin, I popped in to the city to see what the crack was all about, and happened to visit the national gallery. Little did I know I've been doing galleries wrong this whole time. It's the first time I've been to a gallery alone, and it was the best. I didn't have to look at every single piece, and the works I liked I could oggle for as long as I liked. I even fell in love with a new artist working with a surprising medium. Stained Glass artist Harry Clarke, who worked from the early to mid 1900's

I even picked up his book, there was something so contemporary about his approach to figure and form, almost like a modern character design. The colours were incredible, im unsure if its the standard, but I could tell the work was layered to achieve a wider palette. This piece especially grabbed me, "Mary Mother of Sorrows". Mary has never looked so cool, sadly no images do the piece justice.

This mans work will be in the back of my mind from here on out when making art.
